Introduction to our Equality & DEI Policy

Iguality is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing free mental health care and psychosocial support to some of society’s most marginalised communities, including refugees, migrants, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those experiencing homelessness. Our mission is grounded in two core principles: Equality and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

  • Equality refers to ensuring that everyone, regardless of their gender, background, or circumstances, has access to the same resources and opportunities. For us, this means providing equitable access to our services and opportunities within the organisation. Our commitment to equality involves eliminating barriers and addressing systemic issues, including gender inequality, to ensure that every individual can participate fully and fairly in our programmes and initiatives.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), on the other hand, encompasses a broader approach that focuses not only on equality but also on recognising and valuing the differences among individuals. Diversity involves acknowledging and celebrating the unique characteristics and experiences that each person brings. Equity is about addressing and correcting imbalances to ensure fair treatment, access, and advancement for all individuals, particularly those who have been historically disadvantaged. Inclusion means creating a supportive and welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute.

At Iguality, our dedication to Equality and DEI is integral to our mission and operational approach. We believe that a truly inclusive society is one where every person can thrive free from discrimination and prejudice. Our Equality & DEI Plan serves as a comprehensive framework to integrate these principles into all aspects of our work, guiding our efforts to build a more just and equitable society. By focusing on both equality and DEI, we aim to not only provide essential services but also to foster a culture where diversity is embraced, and all individuals feel a sense of belonging and respect.
