A weekend to remember: the Vuelta de Iguality ’26

Published on October 18, 2026
On Saturday 26 September, Hostalric became the meeting point for our community for the first time. More than 70 runners and cyclists, from 28 different nationalities, gathered at the Zona Esportiva Municipal d'Hostalric for the Vuelta de Iguality '26; our biggest edition yet.

Written by Vincent Simon van Grondelle

From the 6KM and 10KM runs through the old town, forests and fields, to the cycling routes of 55, 100 and 150KM through the Montseny, every participant set out at 8:30h with the same spirit. The Vuelta is not a race; it is a day of community and positive health, in support of Iguality's free psychosocial support and sports activities for people at risk of social exclusion. Seeing so many people from so many backgrounds riding, running and celebrating together is exactly what this event is about.

Together we raised almost €6,000. Thank you to every participant who collected donations from friends, family and colleagues, and to everyone who donated. Donations are still possible, so if you would like to contribute, you can do so at vueltadeiguality.org/donate.

This year the Vuelta was also our team weekend. Alongside the event itself, the Iguality team spent the weekend together in Hostalric, and on Sunday we visited the Fortalesa d'Hostalric; a wonderful way to close an unforgettable few days and to get to know the town that has welcomed us so warmly.

None of this would be possible without the people and organisations who support us. A huge thank you to the Ajuntament d'Hostalric, and in particular to Marta, Laura, Joan and Eloi, for their commitment and hospitality. Thank you also to Bar 5punt16, TREK Barcelona Sud, Fundación la Caixa, lululemon, the Oficina de Turisme d'Hostalric, Torre dels Bous, and the Policia Local d'Hostalric, especially Toni.

Above all, a special thank you to our volunteers, who once again made the whole event possible: Thijs, Petra, Alex, Kiriaki, Blanca, Caroline, Lucy, Luciana, Anna, Dennise, Marina, Louren, Piers and Aleksandra. Your energy, care and hard work are what make the Vuelta feel the way it does.

Next year we celebrate our 5th anniversary edition, most likely back in Hostalric. We would love to see you there. Pre-register now to be the first to hear when registration opens: https://iguality.fillout.com/notify-me-vuelta
