Time-off (Leave)

Time-Off Days
At Iguality, we recognise the importance of rest and recharging, which is why we offer time off for all team members. Our general time-off policy provides 25 annual leave days, in addition to official public holidays. In Spain, this typically includes 12 public holidays (national and local), bringing the total to 37 days off per year. However, this number may vary depending on location and local regulations.
Time-Off Calculation
- Employees: Time off is granted in line with the general time-off policy, plus relevant bank holidays. For part-time employees, leave is calculated on a pro-rata basis.
- Freelancers: These team members receive time off as recovery time, calculated pro-rata based on the period worked, using the general time-off policy as the base, including applicable bank holidays.
- **Volunteers: **Time off does not apply to volunteers. Their work is flexible, based on their availability, comfort, and mutual agreement.
- Interns: Time-off will be agreed upon between the intern and Iguality based on their internship agreement.
RELEVANT NOTES:
- Freelancers and interns contracted for fewer than 10 hours per week are not entitled to time off.
- Time off for anyone who starts or leaves mid-year is calculated pro-rata, based on the portion of the year worked. For example, if you start in July, your time-off entitlement will be adjusted according to the remaining months of the year.
Requesting Time-Off
- All time-off requests should be submitted through Airtable in your profile.
- Each request must be approved by your supervisor. If not approved, you will be informed of the reason and possible alternatives.
Carrying Over Holidays
- You are allowed to carry over up to 3 days of untaken leave to the following calendar year.
- Any additional untaken leave will be lost if not used by the end of the year.
Bank Holidays
- Iguality adheres to official bank holidays. Team members in the respective locations are automatically off on those days.
- However, team members can choose to work on a bank holiday and take another day off, provided it is agreed with their supervisor.
