Our volunteer community
Volunteers are the heart of Iguality. We are deeply committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment where people come together to make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most. Our volunteer therapists, social workers, and community sports leaders play essential roles in our programs, ensuring that we can provide high-quality care and services to marginalized communities.
Volunteers do not only contribute their expertise—they become part of a community, learning, growing, and connecting with others who share their passion for helping. This reciprocal relationship benefits both the volunteers, who gain valuable skills, connections, and a deep sense of purpose, and our beneficiaries, who receive critical support and care.
We have several volunteer roles that reflect the diverse skills and expertise required to support our mission. These roles include:
- Community Volunteers: Individuals who assist with various tasks such as event organization, administrative support, and providing services like translation or orientation for newcomers. They help ensure our operations run smoothly and contribute to creating an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere.
- Sports Volunteers: These volunteers lead and co-organize weekly sports activities, such as football, running, and other recreational events. They help foster a sense of belonging and promote holistic well-being through physical activities, while also creating a social space for individuals to connect and grow together.
- Volunteer Therapists: Psychologists and mental health professionals who provide therapy and counseling sessions to individuals in need. They play an essential role in delivering the mental health services that form the core of Iguality’s work.
- Training Volunteers: These individuals share their knowledge and skills with the team by providing training on various topics, such as mental health, social inclusion, and other areas critical to our work. They support the ongoing development of volunteers and staff and ensure our programs continue to be effective and responsive to the needs of our communities.
Each of these roles is crucial to ensuring that Iguality continues to deliver its mission of providing accessible mental health care, fostering community, and advocating for marginalized groups. Volunteers are not just a support system—they are an integral part of everything we do.
