This October has been a busy month for Iguality, with a range of events focused on mental health and social inclusion. We started with our professional development and networking event, ‘Creating a culture of positive mental health’, which brought together professionals from the mental health and social sectors. The day was dedicated to sharing ideas and developing practical solutions to improve support for people in vulnerable situations. It was a valuable opportunity to reflect on our work and strengthen our network.
Following this, we held our first Open Iguality Day at the Centre Civic Sant Agusti. This event was aimed at the general public, giving us the chance to talk directly with people on the street about our services, mental health in general, and ways to support our mission. Activities like these are important for raising awareness and making mental health care more accessible to everyone in Barcelona and Catalonia.
Next week, we will participate in the Kick-Off of the new MigraCode groups at Open Cultural Center. MigraCode is a program that helps refugees and migrants develop technical skills for jobs in the tech sector. Iguality collaborates closely with MigraCode to provide psychosocial support to students who need it, and we will be presenting our services to the new groups. Programs like MigraCode are essential for helping newcomers integrate and find opportunities in the local job market.
At the same time, our community manager Luciana will travel to Morocco for a week of training and workshops with Future Train, a Swedish-Moroccan organisation. This Erasmus+ project is designed to build connections between Europe and Northern Africa through shared learning experiences.
Meanwhile, our Fundraising & Partnerships Manager Blanca will be in Alicante for information sessions by the Spanish National Agency of the European Union, preparing for our new Erasmus+ project RISE in collaboration with our Greek partner ANCE. More updates on this exciting project will follow soon.
