Profile of Buddies

Iguality works with people facing social exclusion - migrants, refugees, LGBTQ+ individuals, and survivors of domestic violence, among others. Your Buddy has been screened by our team before being matched with you. They are not always in a vulnerable or crisis situation, but isolation is often the main reason they joined the programme.

Matching is done by the coordination team, taking into account languages, interests, availability, cultural background, and other relevant factors. We generally match by gender, though exceptions are made when it makes sense for the pair.

If you feel the match isn't working - for any reason - be honest with us. There is no failure in that. Reach out to the coordination team and we'll figure it out together.
