My Time with Iguality: Purpose, People, and Impact

Published on July 1, 2025
What does it mean to belong in a new place, and how can mental health support make all the difference? Polina, our intern, reflects on her experience at Iguality, where she describes how purpose and empathy came together to build inclusive care.

As my internship at Iguality comes to an end, I want to share a few reflections on this meaningful journey.
From the very beginning, I was drawn to Iguality’s mission — making mental health support accessible to everyone, regardless of background or status. As a migrant myself, I know how emotionally challenging it can be to adapt to a new country. Working with other migrants in Barcelona felt deeply personal and purposeful. I’ve lived through the stress, the cultural shock, and the silent struggles — and I know how much of a difference the right support can make.

What makes Iguality truly special is its people. The team is made up of passionate, highly skilled professionals who genuinely care. Their energy is contagious. I always felt supported — whether I needed guidance, supervision, or just someone to talk to. The environment was not only professional, but also warm and deeply human.
During my time here, I worked with clients, attended group art therapy sessions, participated in events, and even represented Iguality at an IT conference. I was encouraged to share ideas, contribute meaningfully, and grow as a psychologist and as a person.
I’m incredibly grateful for this experience. Thank you, Iguality, for creating a space where care, professionalism, and social impact truly come together. I’m proud to have been part of this journey.
