The study analyzes data from 166 clients—mostly young adults and migrants from Latin America, with a diverse representation including 13% identifying as LGBTQ+. It reveals the complex and overlapping mental health challenges they face, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and loneliness. Despite these challenges, clients who engaged in therapy reported significant improvements in their well-being and expressed high satisfaction with the empathy and professionalism of our volunteer counselors.
The report also sheds light on how clients typically find Iguality’s services, emphasizing the crucial role of community networks and partner NGOs in connecting individuals to support. Additionally, it highlights opportunities to improve the intake process to better capture sensitive issues like family conflict and past abuse, ensuring a more trauma-informed approach to care.
