The goal of your work

The goal of the therapy

The goal of our therapy is simple, yet powerful: to make life more livable for our patients.

By providing support, we aim to reduce stress, increase emotional stability, and strengthen coping skills. For many of our patients, this support can make a significant difference, helping them move from a place of feeling isolated and overwhelmed, to a place of feeling seen, supported, and empowered.

In every session, our goal is to offer something tangible — whether it's space for the patient to be heard, a new strategy for coping, or simply a sense of hope. While we don’t expect you to solve everything, your presence and guidance are incredibly meaningful.

Your Role as a Volunteer Therapist

As a volunteer therapist at Iguality, your main responsibility is to provide mental health support to individuals and communities who face marginalisation, precarity, and barriers to accessing traditional care.

You’ll primarily be offering one-on-one therapy sessions. In some cases, there may be opportunities to also participate in group therapy.

We ensure you receive the professional support you need to succeed in your role. You’ll have access to monthly support for your caseload, and in case of emergencies, there are always direct support lines available.

All the most up-to-date information about our work is available in the Volunteer Guide, which will serve as a helpful reference for any questions you may have.
