Opening / Welcome Script

When you’re hosting an activity, we’d love for you to gather everyone for a quick chat before we start. Think of these points as a friendly guide rather than a strict script—just make sure you touch on each topic in your own words:

  1. Welcome & Icebreaker: Start by warmly welcoming everyone and introducing yourself. Then, invite the group to do a quick round of introductions (name, where they’re from, how they heard about Iguality, and if it’s their first time). A small icebreaker question is a great way to break the ice if you feel like it!
  2. About Iguality: Briefly share the story behind why we’re here. You don’t need to "sell" us; just help everyone understand the context. You could mention that Iguality provides free mental health support to people at risk of social exclusion, and that we offer these sports activities to connect physical movement with mental well-being.
  3. Our Shared Space: Remind everyone that these activities are open to all and designed to bring different communities together. The goal is simply to promote positive mental and physical health for everyone in a free, accessible, and welcoming environment.
  4. Support & Open Door: Finish by letting them know they’re in safe hands. If anyone has questions, doesn’t feel well, or needs support during the session, they should feel comfortable asking you or any other volunteer immediately. If they’re curious to learn more about Iguality, they can ask anytime or reach out directly to Vincent.
