The context<\/h6>\n

The problem we observed<\/h2>\n

Up to 40%<\/strong> of people experience a mental health issue at some point in their lives \u2014 in Spain and around the world.<\/strong> Yet while mental wellbeing is a basic human right<\/strong>, public systems are overwhelmed and lack the capacity<\/strong> to provide inclusive, community-based care.<\/p>\n

As a result, mental health support remains out of reach for many<\/strong> \u2014 especially refugees, LGBTQ+ individuals, survivors of violence, and others facing social exclusion. Those most in need<\/strong> are often left without the high quality care they deserve.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our response<\/h6>\n

The solution we created<\/h2>\n

Recognising the urgent need for accessible mental health support,<\/strong> Iguality was founded in August 2022<\/strong> by psychologists Luciana and Alex, sociologist Marta, and social worker Vincent. They built a network of volunteer therapists<\/strong> offering free weekly individual and group therapy, both online and in person.<\/p>\n

As the organisation grew, Iguality expanded its services to offer holistic care<\/strong> \u2014 combining therapy with group sports, physiotherapy, LGBTQ+ support, legal guidance, and community advocacy. Our approach bridges personal wellbeing with collective empowerment<\/strong>, ensuring care is not only free, but inclusive, consistent, and rooted in social justice.<\/strong><\/p>\n
