Over het evenement

A powerful documentary exploring the emotional struggles of eight men in Egypt, followed by talks and an open panel discussion. Entrance is free and it's a great way to connect with others of our diverse and bright community!

Join us for a wonderful night where we'll screen the documentary I Feel The World, an exploration of emotional vulnerability among men in Egypt. This evocative film, part of a collaboration between sustainable streetwear brand SACER and IOM (the International Organization for Migration) in Egypt, co-created with mental health photographer Anna Afanasjeva, delves into the lives of eight men from diverse backgrounds.

We see how they confront the cultural stigmas surrounding emotional expression, and by presenting their stories through intimate interviews and unfiltered footage, the film underscores the universal challenges of navigating mental health and societal expectations.

The screening, hosted by Iguality and SACER, will take place in the beautiful space of Centre Cívic Convent de Sant Agustí in Barcelona. The event will start with three insightful short talks by Vincent Simon van Grondelle, founder of Iguality, Ali El Nawawi, co-founder of SACER, and Amber Makris, one of the clinical psychologists from Iguality, which will offer perspectives on working on mental health with men from various backgrounds.

Following the screening and talks, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with a selected expert panel about the documentary's themes and the broader implications for mental health and emotional expression. This free event is not just a screening but a chance to contribute to the conversation on reducing stigma and fostering mental wellness.
