- Director and President: The Director and President have overall responsibility for sanctions compliance. They oversee all screening activities, approve high-risk or high-value engagements, and ensure that all procurement, partnership, and funding activities adhere to this policy. They also provide guidance to staff and the Board on emerging compliance risks and maintain the organization’s reputation and legal integrity.
- Fundraising Manager: The Fundraising Manager conducts initial screening of all donors, funders, grants, and potential funding agreements. This includes checking applicable sanctions lists, reviewing publicly available information for reputational risks, and documenting findings in Iguality’s records. The Fundraising Manager reports the results of all screenings to the Director and ensures that any potential concerns are flagged promptly for further review.
- Board of Directors: The Board reviews larger funds, grants, and high-value or high-risk collaborations, providing an additional layer of oversight. They participate in the annual compliance review, assess the effectiveness of the screening process, and approve procedures for handling potential matches or risks identified through ongoing monitoring.
- All Staff and Volunteers: All staff and volunteers are required to comply with this policy in their work and interactions with partners, suppliers, donors, and contractors. They must provide any information necessary for screenings, promptly report any concerns or potential issues, and cooperate fully in investigations or due diligence processes. Staff and volunteers are also responsible for ensuring that their own activities and engagements do not create risk for Iguality.
