Iguality Joins EuroPride 2025 in Lisbon to Advocate for LGBTQIA+ Rights and Visibility

Iguality is excited to announce our participation in EuroPride 2025, which will be held in Lisbon from June 14 to 22. This event is a significant gathering for the LGBTQIA+ community, offering a platform to celebrate diversity and advocate for human rights. We are particularly looking forward to the Human Rights Conference, scheduled for June 19 and 20 at the historic Cinema São Jorge. This venue, known for its cultural significance, will host discussions on pressing issues such as extremism, disinformation, migration, and safety, all through the lens of human rights.

Our representative, Caroline Erize, will be speaking at the session titled “Asylum, Justice & Visibility” on June 20 at 12:00. This session will delve into the unique challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals affected by conflict and climate change, especially in the asylum process. Participants will explore the delicate balance these individuals must maintain between being visible to authorities and concealing their identities from those around them. The session aims to highlight the need for evolving systems to ensure justice and inclusion for displaced LGBTQIA+ people.
