The therapy<\/h3>\n

While the setting resembles regular therapy<\/strong>\u2014one-to-one sessions using established approaches such as CBT\u2014please note that our work takes a broader, holistic approach.<\/strong> We focus on social psychology and consider the whole person, supporting not just mental health but also other aspects of their life.<\/strong> This means you may also address and assist with challenges beyond traditional therapy, always with our support.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The sessions<\/h3>\n

Once you are connected to the person you will support (who will be selected in consultation with you<\/strong>), you can have weekly or bi-weekly sessions.<\/strong> They can happen online or in-person,<\/strong> depending on preferences. A session will be between 50 and 120m,<\/strong> depending on the need and your availability. You will need to log each session,<\/strong> and you can always access your own notes through a safe and secure digital platform.<\/p>\n

The supervision<\/h3>\n

Every month, Iguality organises a Supervision session for all volunteers<\/strong> that are currently working on a case. We kindly ask you to join this session so we can get an update on the case<\/strong> and to give you the opportunity to share any doubts or questions. This session happens online<\/strong> and you can join to just share your case (20-30m),<\/strong> or stay longer and also support other volunteer therapists<\/strong> with their cases.<\/p>\n

Requirements<\/h6>\n

The ideal volunteer profile<\/h2>\n

A completed<\/strong> Bachelor’s or Master\u2019s Degree in Psychology<\/strong> is required. It can be clinical or social psychology. The country of obtaining the degree doesn\u2019t matter as long as it’s from a recognised university.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Proficiency in English and\/or Spanish<\/strong> is necessary. Additional languages like Arabic, Portuguese, Farsi, Bengali, or French are a plus.<\/p>\n

At least 6 months of experience<\/strong> in individual therapy \/ counselling is required. If you only have internship experience, you can join our Therapist Growth Track<\/strong> before taking on cases (you still apply below in the same way).<\/p>\n

Commitment to at least 15 sessions (+\/- 15 weeks)<\/strong> of 50-120 minutes each, plus a monthly 30 to 60-minute supervision session with other volunteers.<\/p>\n
